Webinar Invitation: Promoting the new Transitions Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) – Preparing children for adulthood.

You are invited to a multi-agency webinar hosted by the Barnet Safeguarding Children Partnership and Barnet Safeguarding Adults Board to promote the newly developed Preparing Children for Adulthood Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).  This is part of our season of learning upon improving transitions for children to adulthood.

We are running 6 webinars over a few months starting late November 2025  – you only need to attend one webinar, they are all the same.

Purpose of the Webinar:
This session will introduce the Preparing for Adulthood MoU, which sets out a shared framework for supporting young people as they transition from children’s to adult services. It outlines clear responsibilities for all safeguarding partners and promotes a coordinated, person-centred approach to improve outcomes for young people. We will also look to learning obtained following the conclusion of a Local Learning Review featuring the sad deaths of two young adults, which was very much the catalyst for this work and you will hear from a representative group of key Partners who will detail best practice across SEN, children moving to services for adults and in respect of mental health support for children into adulthood.

Why Attend?

  • Understand your agency’s role in implementing the MoU
  • Understand how it can be used in practice
  • Learn how the MoU supports statutory duties and multi-agency collaboration
  • Obtain disseminated learning from a Local Learning Review.
  • Hear directly from partners about best practice and next steps
  • Ask questions and contribute to shaping future transitions work

Who Should Attend?
Safeguarding leads, transition coordinators, service managers, and front line practitioners across health, education, social care, housing, police, VCFS, and other relevant sectors.

The webinars are open to all, so please do forward on to colleagues.
